David LeRoy Pancheri, 68, of Idaho Falls, passed away on January 4, 2024, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
David was born on March 22, 1955, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Owen LeRoy Pancheri and Sylvia Jurene Reifshneider Pancheri. He grew up on a farm and was raised with a love for agriculture, which became a large part of his life. He attended schools in Idaho Falls, including York School, Longfellow, and O.E. Bell Junior High. He graduated from Skyline High School in 1973. He went on to attend Eastern Idaho Vocation Technical School and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Farm Diesel and Hydraulics.
On July 16, 1976, he married Robin LaRue Reed in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple. David and Robin made their home in Osgood where they were surrounded by a community of life-long friends. David spent most of his career working in Agronomy where he cultivated many lasting relationships with clients and friends alike.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he dedicated his life to serving others and the Lord. He was very patriotic and had a strong love for his country. He enjoyed his calling in the Bishopric at BYU-Idaho, where he influenced many young people, and was currently serving as the First Counselor in the Bishopric for the Osgood Ward.
David loved to play basketball and was a referee for both church and city leagues. He enjoyed many other sports, including softball, and he especially loved golf. He also had a love for music and played the trumpet in pep band, was a drum major, and sang in the high school choir. As an adult, he continued to sing in his ward choir. David was a Boy Scout, where he learned to climb mountains, camp in winter caves, and found a love for the outdoors. He was also on the Taylor Mountain Ski Patrol. David enjoyed hunting ducks and geese, was an avid motorsports enthusiast, and loved trail riding and cross-country bike trips with his wife. He had a natural talent for mechanics and was a jack-of-all-trades, skills that he passed on to his sons. He had a special love for his grandchildren, and willingly shared his counsel and experience with anyone who asked for it.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Reed Pancheri of Osgood, Idaho; mother, Sylvia Pancheri of Idaho Falls, Idaho; sons, Dustin David (Teresa) Pancheri of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Owen Spencer (Laramie) Pancheri of Rigby, Idaho, and Benjamin Smith (Crystal) Pancheri of Ririe, Idaho; siblings, Teresa Pancheri of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Bruce Lee (Patty) Pancheri of Moscow, Idaho, Brenda (Mike) Jones of Ennis, Montana, Cindy Pancheri of Idaho Falls, Idaho; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
David was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Pancheri.
