David Kevin Oram

David Kevin Oram, 61, of Kennewick, Washington, formerly of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away May 26, 2024, at his home.

David was born December 24, 1962, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to William Richard Oram and Sheri Clarice Butikofer Oram. He grew up and attended schools in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School. He also attended Phoenix University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business. David served in the United States Army during the Cold War from 1982-1985, and he was honorably discharged. He was currently enrolled at Western Governors University.

On January 6, 1989, he married Elaine McClaskey in Omaha, Nebraska. David and Elaine made their home in Nebraska. David was a nuclear technician in Omaha, followed by a rental manager in Fremont, and then he became a Rental Center Operations manager in Columbus for several years. In 2002, Dave received a phone call that would change his family’s lives. He was invited to work as a Technician and (later became) a Union Leader for the Federal Aviation Administration. He started his career in Washington State and finished it 21 years later in Idaho. Once his beloved passed away in early 2023, he retired to live near his youngest daughters in Washington State. He served as a journeyman electrician and helicopter mechanic in the Army and was honorably discharged as an E4 back in 1985. He received several awards for his technical skills. His greatest achievement was marrying Elaine, for that is what he treasured most, and made sure everyone knew it.

Dave was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served with the Melchizedek Priesthood and loved serving his church and community. He enjoyed building guns and range shooting, building and repairing engines of cars and motorcycles. One of his favorite things to do was go on road trips with his brother, Greg, and his dad. He enjoyed fishing and everything the outdoors offered. He loved spending time, and eating new foods with his children and grandchildren. He also loved playing with his dog, Chewy.

David is survived by his father, William Oram of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Sherie (Derrick) Lane of Kennewick, WA, daughter, Patricia M. Oram of Richland, WA; step-son, William K.
