David Reed Monson

David Reed Monson, 63, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died June 15, 2023, at his home in Idaho Falls. He was born October 17, 1959, to Reed Stanley Monson and Dorothy Ann Monson in Los Angeles, California. He was raised in California and attended John Burroughs High School in Burbank, California.

In the mid 1990's he moved to Idaho to be closer to his brother Dwayne and sister Darlene. He enjoyed being employed as a maintenance technician for production equipment while living in Preston, Idaho. He later moved to Idaho Falls. David was known for his remarkable selflessness and deep affection for all animals. He would often give away his last bit of money or food to someone in need rather than keep it for himself. He also enjoyed all aspects of the Southern California lifestyle, including hard rock concerts and working on his tan. David had an extensive collection of movies and music that provided him countless hours of enjoyment. It is unlikely that anyone in Hollywood or Idaho knew more about movie and music trivia than he did. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by a sister, Jeana Kromer of Pennsylvania; nieces and nephews, Bradley Horwith and Cameron Horwith, both of Idaho Falls, Sarah Monson of Tooele, Utah, Dean Stradley of California, Joseph Kytlica of Las Vegas, NV, and Michael Arnold of Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Dorothy Monson; a brother, Dwayne Monson; and sisters Denise Monson, Darlene Horwith and Debbie Brill.
