DAVID "JAKE" DeROCO
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- David "Jake" Paul DeRoco, 59, of Shelley, Idaho, died from cancer, December 1, 2006, at Eastern Idaho Regional Center, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born September 18, 1947, in Pensacola, Florida, to Vernon and Mary DeRoco. The family moved to WA, where he graduated from Shorecrest High School and Shoreline Community College in Seattle. He served in the U. S. Navy as a Seabee, and served 2-1/2 years in Vietnam as a heavy equipment operator.
He married Billie Gayle Rentle in California. They had two daughters, Leya and Monica, and were later divorced. In 1982, he married Kathleen Fortney. They had one son, Clint, and were later divorced. In 1989, he married Doris Kelley in Shelley, Idaho. Jake worked more than 25 years in retail sales. In 1988, he worked for Eagle Snacks and Budweiser Distributing. He became warehouse manager in 1994. In 1997, he became a delivery driver of beer and wine in the Eastern Idaho area. In June, 2000, he began working for Dreyer's of Idaho, stocking his own delivery truck and delivering to Jackson and Teton Park, Wyoming, and Ashton, Driggs, and Victor, Idaho.
His favorite holiday was Christmas, as he enjoyed dressing as Santa, going to Albertson's and the homes of family and friends to pass out gifts to children; he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf,camping with all of his friends, and he loved cooking for everyone at barbeques, so he will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Brother: Ronald DeRoco, FL
Brother: Allan (Debra) DeRoco, VA
Sister: Joan (Doug) Stacey, WA
Sister: Janett (Dick) Oestreich, MT
and 9 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary DeRoco.
Memorial Services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, January 6, 2006, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends for one hour before services at Wood Funeral Home.
