David Lynn “Dave” Daw, 64, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 2, 2011, at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah, of heart failure. Dave was born November 30, 1946, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Albert Earl Daw and Verda Jensen Daw. He grew up in Osgood and attended Osgood Elementary School and Clair E. Gale Junior High School. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School and earned his bachelor's degree from Idaho State University in business. He served a full-time LDS mission to Central America from 1965 to 1967. Dave met the love of his life, Maureen Johnson, at Ricks College and they were married December 18, 1970, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He was a devoted family man and was one of the owner operators of Daw Farms, Inc. in Osgood. He was also President of the Osgood Canal Company for many years. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dave was a high priest and served in various capacities over the years, including Branch Mission Leader while on his full-time mission, in the Elders Quorum and High Priest Group Leadership, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, and was currently serving as Spanish Branch Mission Leader in the Idaho Falls Oakland Valley Branch. Dave loved being with his kids and grandkids, family and friends, golfing, fishing, and studying the Gospel of Jesus Christ. David is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Maureen, three sons, Morgan David (Malina) Daw, Quinn Christopher Daw, and Trevor James Daw, all of Idaho Falls, ID; two daughters, Courtney Lynn (Nathan) Anderson of Idaho Falls and Alexis Jade Daw of Boise, ID; his mother, Verda Daw of Osgood; three brothers, Dennis Daw of Osgood, Terry Daw of Ammon, and Rick Daw of Idaho Falls; two sisters, Janet Smith and Jenell Brimhall, both of Salt Lake City, UT; and six grandchildren, Connor, Hannah, Cooper, Griffin, Max, and Michael. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Earl Daw, and a brother, Maurice (Buddy) Daw. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at the Idaho Falls LDS Osgood Ward, 7940 North 35th West, with Bishop Brad Reed officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
