PAT CLYDE
MATTAWA, WA -- David "Pat" Evan Clyde, 96, of Mattawa, Washington, died March 26, 2009 in Idaho Falls.
He was born September 30, 1912 in Heber, Utah to John Donald Clyde and Annabel Murdock Clyde. He graduated from Heber City High School in 1924. He continued his education at Weber State University and Brigham Young University.
On July 11, 1940, he married Verla Bess Gearheart in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. Together they raised 3 children. He lived in Toppenish, Washington for 20 years, and Mattawa, Washington for 32 years. He lived in Idaho Falls for the last few years.
He worked as a cattle rancher, a bank loan officer, an agriculture realtor and broker. He continued working until he was 90 years old even though he was legally blind. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Branch President, a High Councilman, and a Gospel Doctrine Teacher for 20 years.
Pat was active in the community and was a 4-H leader, the Washington State Cattleman Association President, and a Mint Growers Advocate. He played the saxophone and clarinet in a band called the "Sage Brush Seniors"until 4 years ago. He was kind and generous to all. He loved music, his family and was a friend to all he met.

Daughter: Kathy (Stan) Gammon, Idaho Falls, ID
11 Grandchildren & 11 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 1 brother and 4 sisters.
The family would like to especially thank Aspen Hospice and two special care givers: Isabel and Olga.
Graveside Services will be held at Sugar City Cemetery, 2 p.m. Saturday March 28. 2009. The family will visit with friends from 12 Noon - 1 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Ave. Before leaving for the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com.

I am so sorry to read about Pat passing away. I wish I would have known so I could have been a part of his funeral. You were such a wonderful daughter and so devoted to him. I know how hard this must of been for you. I will always cherish the memories with him.
