It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of David "Scott" Brockway. Known to most as Scott, he was a loving and comedic man. He passed right before the New Year on December 31st due to Stage 4 cancer, surrounded by his loving wife and children.
He was born January 29, 1960, in Fond Du Loc, Wisconsin to Norma Jean (deceased) and David Brockway (deceased). He moved to Pocatello Idaho with his family in 1976.
He trained as a cop and worked as a security guard for the INL for 15 years. He retired early due to a diagnosis of MS which he bravely fought for 20 years.
In 1985 he married his first wife Joan Sullivan, and had 4 amazing children together, Ryan, Matt, Zach, and Samantha. They divorced in early 2003.
Later in 2004, Scott met the love of his life Martha. They married on May 28th, 2005, and Scott became a Dad again to 3 wonderful stepchildren, Samantha, Misty, and Kylie.
Anyone who knew him met a genuine man. He always knew how to put a smile on someone's face. He loved to play basketball, fish, run, and build puzzles. He loved showing all of his kids what good music was like Styx, ACDC, and most importantly Queen. His favorite thing was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He passed just shy of his 63rd birthday.
Scott is survived by his wife Martha Brockway, and his sisters Kristi Anderson (Jack), Holly Rowley, and Collette Lee (Bill); his children: Ryan Brockway, Matthew Brockway (Maygen), Zach Brockway (Katie), Samantha Palmer (Cole), Samantha Mountain (Nate), Misty Bills, and Kylie Bills. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Lia, Charlie, Ryan, Emma, Eli, Willow, Sophia, and Aiden.
A memorial service will be held on January 28, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Phoenix Theatre in downtown Idaho Falls.
In lieu of flowers, donations for his medical expenses can be made to the family by check or Venmo.
