David B. Braithwaite, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 24, 2012 at his home. He was under the care of One Source Hospice.
David was born July 27, 1937 in Ogden, Utah, to Robert Hillard Braithwaite and Ella Barnes Braithwaite. He grew up in Arco, Idaho and graduated from Butte High School. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Utah State University.
David married Carol Katherine Frongner on August 8, 1961 at Elko, Nevada. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1962. They were the parents of eight children. David served in the Army 82nd Airborne. In 1966 he began working as an electrical engineer at INL site until retiring in 2001.
David was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. David served a two year mission in the Great Lakes Mission, and served a nineteen month mission with his wife in the Nevada, Las Vegas West Mission. He served as a counselor in the bishopric, a temple ordinance worker, and as a Scout Master. He served in scouting for thirty years. David was awarded the Silver Beaver and received a District Award of Merit from the Boy Scouts of America. His hobbies included playing the piano, hunting, fishing, gardening, and scouting. His favorite activity was spending time with his grandchildren.

Son, Dustin F. (Jessica) Braithwaite, of Idaho Falls;
33 grandchildren, 4 adopted, and 12 great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son David Lynn Braithwaite, a sister Nedra and a brother Doyle Braithwaite.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Idaho Falls LDS church building on 2545 Mesa Street. The family will meet with friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 South Ammon Rd). Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
