Fred David Baker, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away on December 17, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 9, 1939, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Fred D. Baker and Alice Augusta Christensen Baker. He grew up and attended schools in Madison County. During his teen years he moved to Idaho Falls where he graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He then attended Rick College in Rexburg.
He married Millicent Pope and they adopted two children, Julia and Michael. They later divorced. On May 24, 1973, he married Ruby Colene Robinson in Newdale, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 27, 1977. He worked at Pacific Fruit and Produce, Waremart, and Albertsons.
David was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a youth he served as a missionary in the Toronto Canada Mission at the same time President Thomas S. Monson was serving as Mission President. He was very proud to have served with the current Prophet. He also served as a Chorister and as a teacher in Sunday School. He enjoyed music, wood crafting, painting, quilting, making clocks, gardening, canning, and ran his own fruit stand.
For 14 years, David and Colene spent their winters in Yuma, Arizona. He led the Church Choir and made multiple friends from all over the world.

Daughter: Terrie McCowan, Idaho Falls, ID
Son: Bryan Ward, Yelm, Washington
17 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Baker and a grandson, Johnathan Clay.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at the Idaho Falls LDS Parkwood Ward (395 2nd Street) with Bishop Dean Ward, of the Idaho Falls 14th Ward, officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Wood Funeral Home to help with funeral costs.
