David Lynn Harding, 61, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 12, 2017, at his home. He was under the care of his family and Hands of Hope Hospice. Dave was born May 9, 1956, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Orson David Harding and Barbara Mae Moore Harding. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, including Skyline High School. On January 15, 1983, he married Karen Jean Empey in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Dave and Karen made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Dave worked as a welder for Idaho Steel Products. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed welding, fishing, woodworking, gardening, and hunting. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Karen Harding of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Onni Kaye (Larry Davis) Harding of Idaho Falls, ID, daughter, Elena Erikka (Scott D.) Hunting of Idaho Falls, ID, daughter, Elissa Lynn Hayward of Idaho Falls, ID, sister, Marianne (Randy) Young of Shelley, ID. 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karrie Marie Drollinger Bennett, parents, Orson and Barbara Harding, father-in-law, Keith A. Empey, and mother-in-law, Roberta Empey. The family would like to thank Dr. Timothy O. Taylor and staff, Dr. Brad Adams, Brittany Ohman, Kylee Belnap, the staff of Teton Cancer Institute, Dr. Ryan Bair and staff, Dr. Brandon Kelly, and Dr. Brad Smith, Korrie, DeVry, Liz, J. J. and Breeana at Hands of Hope Hospice, for their kindness and loving care given to Dave. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to Reel Recovery, a national non-profit organization that conducts free fly-fishing retreats for men living with all forms of cancer, online at http://reelrecovery.org/how-to-help/donate/. A Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, Friday, August 18, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.
