Darrell Ray Tinker, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 10, 1939, in Hailey, Idaho, the son of Cecil Verdell Tinker and Hazel Dean Catherine Phillips Tinker. He attended schools in Hailey, Rigby, Montpelier, and Bellevue, Idaho, receiving his GED from Rigby, Idaho.
On September 29, 1962, he married Jeanette June Fox in Elko, Nevada. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on March 12, 1991. They made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Darrell worked as a maintenance foreman for the State of Idaho, Division of Highways.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family. Family was everything to him.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Jeanette Tinker of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Lavinda (Joel) Hedman of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Brenda (John) Cleveland of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Brent Ray Tinker of Sugar City, ID; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Verdell Tinker; sister, Arlene Jacobsen; and brother, Delmar Tinker.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Idaho Falls 21st Ward, 1155 East First Street, with Bishop Bradley Scholes officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Aberdeen Cemetery.
