Darrell Scott Hayes, 30, of Menan, died July 8, 2010, in Idaho Falls of injuries received in a automobile accident.
Scott was born November 29, 1979, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Burdette W. Hayes and Sheryl R. Hall Hayes. He grew up in Menan and attended Rigby schools. He graduated from Jefferson High School and was currently attending Idaho State University.
Scott served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps in Iraq in 2003 and returned for a second tour of duty with the U. S. Army in 2005. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Mule Deer Foundation. He especially loved hunting at Medicine Lodge and fishing the South Fork. Scott was working part time as a clerk at Tiger Mart Chevron while he was going to school.
Scott was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed hunting, camping, computers, fishing, and was an accomplished wrestler. He was an expert rifleman in the military. Scott loved his family and spending time with them. He was a diesel mechanic in the military and liked working with automobiles. Scott was a devoted father, son, and brother.

Sister: Kayla Rae (Todd) Horkley of Roberts, ID
Nieces and Nephew, Andria Wellman, Devany Huitron, Elorie Hayes, and Jesse Jones.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Richard Ball officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m., both at Wood East Side.
Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
