Darlo Hansen, 93, of Ammon, passed away December 10, 2022, at his home. He was under the care of his loving family and Brio Home Health & Hospice.
Darlo was born August 11, 1929, in Goshen, Idaho, to Willis Hansen and Mary Staples Hansen. He grew up and attended schools in Goshen and graduated from Firth High School.
On April 9, 1950, he married Betty Jean Adams in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on December 7, 1955. Darlo and Betty made their home in Goshen, Idaho, for 62 years. Due to failing health, they moved to Ammon, where they were welcomed with open arms.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed working with the youth in the Scouting program. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and especially spending time with his grandkids. Darlo worked most of his life in construction.
Darlo is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Betty Hansen of Ammon, ID; daughter, Brenda (Tim) Moon of Shelley, ID; son, Rick (Darla) Hansen of Chubbuck, ID; daughter, Cindy (Frank) Gorgos; 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Mary Hansen; brothers, LaVerl, Myron, and Wilmer; sister, Delma Mickelsen; daughter and son-in-law, Darla and Hank Kindel; and grandson, Eric Moon.
We would like to extend our appreciation for Dr. Brad Erikson and “MY BRIO GIRLS.” There truly are angels on earth. A special thanks to Dr. Gary Wallace for his amazing care.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the Ammon 34th Ward, 4030 John Adams Parkway. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery.
