Darlene Wall Genetti, 87, formerly of Layton, passed away April 8, 2017, at Sage Grove Assisted Living in Rigby, Idaho. She was under the care of Alliance Home Health & Hospice. Darlene was born July 22, 1929, in Layton, Utah, to Irie Charles Wall and Cora Zespa Wall. Darlene and her identical twin sister, Arlene, grew up and attended schools in Layton and graduated from Davis High School. On February 23, 1951, she married Guy Dominic Genetti in Layton, Utah. To this union were born two children, Michael and Nancy. Darlene and Guy made their home in West Haven, Utah, where Darlene was homemaker. Guy passed away on April 30, 1977. Darlene married DeWayne H. Sperry in Layton, Utah. They lived in West Haven where DeWayne worked at Hill Air Force Base. They were later divorced. She had a love for travel. She enjoyed trips to Hawaii and Disneyland with her sisters, as well as fishing trips to Alaska. She also enjoyed making quilts, embroidery, and square dancing. Darlene is survived by her son, Michael (Amy) Genetti of Rigby, ID; daughter, Nancy (Scott) Sexton Bachman of Pueblo, CO; sisters, Olive (John) Weston of Salt Lake City, UT, Anne Farnsworth of Lava Hot Springs, ID, Fonda (Del) Beck of Clinton, UT; brother, Larry (Terri) Wall of Layton, UT; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Guy Genetti; sisters, Arlene Bell and Joan Garcia. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Lindquist Memorial Park, 1867 N. Fairfield Road, in Layton, Utah. The family would like to express their appreciation to the many people that cared for Darlene at Sage Grove of Rigby, Idaho, Alliance Home Health & Hospice of Idaho Falls, and Dr. David Liljenquist of Idaho Falls.
