Darlene Lucille Bradford, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away on March 25, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
She was born May 22,1937, in Oak Creek, Colorado, to Zelda Irene Balentine Plesha. She grew up in Doris, California with her grandparents Thomas Daniel and Effie Arminta Farris Baxter Balentine. She attended Butte Valley High School and graduated Valedictorian in 1955.
On May 6,1955, she married Charles George Bradford in Doris, California. They lived in Honolulu, Hawaii, while stationed in the United States Navy, then moved to Kiamath Falls, Oregon, and then to Idaho Falls, Idaho, in 1961.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and The Order of the Eastern Star. She worked at the Post Register and then Argonne National Laboratory for 22 years, retiring in 1999. She worked part-time during retirement as a Burpee Seed Merchandising Representative and also served as secretary for the Upper Snake River Trapper's Association.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and recently became a great-grandmother. She was an avid gardener and also enjoyed baking, sewing, embroidery, crafting, and raising animals.
Darlene is survived by her husband of 62 years, George Bradford of Idaho Falls, Idaho, son, Brady Bradford of Shelley, Idaho, daughter, Katherine Bradford (Brent) Struhs of Rigby, Idaho, daughter, Cindy Bradford (Arnie) Lowrey of Conway, Arkansas, son, Tony Bradford, of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Grandchildren, Brent Bradford of Salt Lake City, Utah, Benjamin Bradford, of Blackfoot, Idaho, Brandon Struhs of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Blake (Ali) Struhs of Denver, Colorado, Bodee Butikofer, of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Great-grandchild, River Ashton Struhs, of Denver, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
A celebration of Darlene's life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 785 1st Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho, on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
