DAREN DAYTON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Daren Everett Dayton, 40, of Idaho Falls, died November 4, 2005, near Arco.
He was born July 12, 1965, in Ogden, Utah, to Everett LaFoy Dayton and Shirlene Lusk Dayton. He attended schools in Snowflake, Arizona, and later in Pocatello, where he graduated from Highland High School. He attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. He continued his education at Idaho State University, where he received his Master’s Degree in Counseling.
On May 1, 1993, he married Kristy Cook in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were later divorced. On December 30, 2003, he married Maria Jacinta “Jaki” Dantas da Cunha in Idaho Falls. He was a professional counselor, working primarily with youth. He worked at the Youth Rehabilitation Center in St. Anthony, and as a clinic manager for Behavioral Health Center in Idaho Falls.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various positions, including Executive Secretary, Elder’s Quorum Presidency, Dance Director and was in the Sunday School Presidency at the time of his death. As a young man, he served a full-time mission to Raleigh, North Carolina. He enjoyed playing the guitar, writing music and lyrics, skiing and riding his motorcycle.

Parents: Everett and Shirlene Dayton, Salem, ID
Sister: Christina (John) Hopkins, Liberty, MO
Sister: Keri (Gregory) Wilson, Kansas City, MO
He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at the Idaho Falls LDS Brentwood Ward (2040 Brentwood), with Bishop Nathan Jacobson officiating.
The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Wednesday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in Wilford Cemetery.
