Darel Cooper

Darel Ivan Cooper, 60, lifetime resident of Idaho Falls, passed away October 7, 2010, at his home of complications from cancer. He was under the loving care of his wife. Darel was born July 25, 1950, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ivan Dale Cooper and Venna Marie Martin Cooper. He attended Iona Elementary and graduated from Bonneville High School. He also attended Eastern Idaho Vocational Technical College and the University of Idaho and earned his Associates Degree in Electronics. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. Darel met the love of his life, Debbie Kay Parker, in 1997 and they were married May 12, 2007, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He worked as an Electronics Specialist and Fire Protection Engineer at the INL. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Darel enjoyed the great Idaho outdoors – hiking, camping, photography, and cross country skiing. He enjoyed metal and woodwork, gardening, and motorcycles. He especially loved smooching with his Debbie. Darel is survived by his loving wife, Debbie, his mother, Venna Cooper of Idaho Falls, a stepson, Jeremiah D. Parker of Corpus Christi, TX; three grandchildren; four sisters, Sheila Cooper of Idaho Falls, ID, Charmaine (Curtis) Brooks of Boise, ID, Carla (Rick) Fluck of Idaho Falls, ID, and Connie (Ed) Lessmann of Granbury, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Ivan Dale Cooper, and a brother, Norman Cooper. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2010, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Friday prior to services. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.

2:00 p.m. ,Friday, October 15, 2010 Wood Funeral Home East Side 963 South Ammon Road Idaho Falls, ID 83406 Notes: The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 1 to 1:45 p.m., both at Wood Funeral Home East Side. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
