Daniel O'Connell

Daniel David O'Connell passed away peacefully on April 9, 2016, at 87 years old. He was born in Spokane, Washington, on September 1, 1928. Daniel worked most of his life as a reactor operator for Argonne National Laboratory at the INEL, EBR-2. He was an Army-Air Force veteran stationed at Eglin Field, Florida, in 1946. After discharge from the service, he returned to Yakima, Washington, and married Marjorie Minion on May 4, 1950. Daniel and Marjorie moved to Idaho Falls in 1962. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie and two children, Terry D. (Teri) O'Connell and Kathy (Joel) Blankenship; and have seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. His hobbies were traveling with his family and later RVing across the U.S. with his wife. Daniel was a member of the Moose Lodge and The American Legion. He will be remembered as a loving father and husband, providing guidance and reassurance to his family and friends. Daniel never interfered but simply suggested what to do then supporting whatever that decision was. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Thursday prior to the services. Burial will be at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.

Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.

2 p.m. ,Thursday, April 14, 2016 Wood Funeral Home 273 North Ridge Avenue Idaho Falls, ID 83402 Notes: The family will visit with friends Thursday from 1-1:45 p.m. prior. Burial will be at Fielding Memorial Park.
