DAN COLE
Daniel Wayne Cole, 46, of Ammon, passed away December 12, 2006, at his home of a long term illness. He was under the care of his loving family and Creekside Hospice.
Dan was born May 30, 1960, in Burley, Idaho, to Duane D. Cole and Ruth Searle Cole. He lived in Burley until he was 5, then moved to Salt Lake, where he grew up and attended Cypress High School for one year, then lived in Mountain Home, where he graduated from Mountain Home High School. After high school he returned to Salt Lake and graduated from the University of Utah.
He’s lived in Idaho Falls for the past 24 years, where he met Rebecca Janet Mullen, and they were married for time and all eternity December 28, 1993, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He worked as a microbiologist at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and installed carpet and vinyl part-time.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as Ward Executive Secretary, Varsity Scout Leader, Young Men President, First Counselor in the Bishopric, High Priest Group Secretary, and Ward Mission Leader. He coached and played soccer, golf, softball, and skiing.
Dan loved photography, fishing, bow hunting, backpacking, playing with his children, and running his bird dogs.
Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Cole, his three children, Caitlynn, Caleb, and Shelby, all of Idaho Falls, and a sister, Shannadee (Michael Browder) Cole, of Leawood, Kansas. He was preceded in death by a son, William Lee Cole, his parents, Duane and Ruth Cole, his father-in-law, Charles Mullen, and sister-in-law, Martha Mullen, and an uncle-in-law, Jack Brewer.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2006, at the Ammon LDS 14th Ward (Centennial Building), 4459 East John Adams Parkway, with Bishop Randy Hoffman officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wood East Side.

Rebecca, I am so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. He will be greatly missed. I will never forget the wonderful times we had skiing and playing softball. He was loved by all who knew him, both at work and at play. Dan was one of a kind, always a smile on his face, always a kind word for everyone. We should all follow his example.
