With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dan W. Meyer, 52, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, on July 21, 2026.
Dan was born on October 10, 1973, in Idaho Falls to Clyde E. Meyer and Linda L. Herron Meyer. He spent his childhood in the foothills of Iona, east of Idaho Falls, where he and his father shared a close bond that shaped the man he became. Dan graduated from Bonneville High School before earning his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Welding from EITC.
On March 30, 1996, Dan married the love of his life, Mindy Danielson, in Bonneville County. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories with their two sons.
Dan went on to build a remarkable 35-year career in research and development for the snowmobile industry, where his passion for innovation, craftsmanship, and problem solving left a lasting impact. His work was far more than a career, it was something he genuinely loved. Dan took great pride in what he created.
Although Dan loved his career in the snowmobile industry, his next chapter in life cultivated his roots of farming. Whether it was wrangling up cows that were out or fixing the same fence weekly with baling twine, he embraced it with his heart. His favorite job on the farm was getting to plant and cut grain with his grandson. He cherished the time spent with family, it wasn’t just a job for him. It brought him closer to God and family, all while grounding him.
Dan found his greatest joy in the simple things, being outdoors, camping in Swan Valley, Idaho, riding motorcycles, snow machines, and fishing with his boys. He especially treasured the moments he shared with his grandchildren. Whether it was working on a tractor, telling stories about all his adventures, or enjoying time with those he loved. Knowing Dan meant more than simply crossing paths with him. He had a rare gift for making people feel like family, and making ordinary moments unforgettable. He always brought joy and knew how to lighten the mood.
Above all, Dan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. His love for his family was unwavering, and nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his children, grandchildren, family, and friends. He will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, willingness to lend a helping hand, and the love he gave so freely to those around him.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Mindy Meyer of Idaho Falls; his sons, Jordan D. (Kimberly J.) Meyer of Idaho Falls; Brock N. (T’leese A.) Meyer of Idaho Falls; father, Clyde E. Meyer of Idaho Falls; his mother, Linda Meyer Ziser of Idaho Falls; his sister, Suzanne (Gene) Milburn of Idaho Falls; brothers, Ken C. Meyer of Idaho Falls and Rocky J. Meyer of Idaho Falls; and his 3 beloved grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ernest Meyer; grandmother, Helen Meyer; grandfather, Charles Herron; grandmother, Elane Herron; and one grandchild.
Though his time with us was far too short, Dan’s love, laughter, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. In the words of Dan “It’s all good” and “talk to you in a bit.”
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Aspen Ridge Event Center, 11850 N. 5th E., Idaho Falls, ID 83401.
