Dale Fields Wagoner, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 31, 2012, at his home of natural causes. Dale was born November 21, 1925, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Quincy Argus Wagoner and Lydia Pearl Rainsdon Wagoner. He grew up and attended schools in the Idaho Falls area and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Leora Killpack in June, 1947. They were later divorced. On August 19, 1976, he married Diane L. Vickers at the Shelley Methodist Church in Shelley, Idaho. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dale loved horses, cutter racing, and raising and training horses. Dale had a true passion for anything horses. He loved showing and pulling his draft horses over the years throughout the western states. Winning supreme grand champion at the Eastern Idaho State fair with his prize winning Clydesdale gelding provided him bragging rights with his fellow horse buddies. He also enjoyed competing in cutter racing and riding in the Bonneville County Sheriffs & Shelley Russets Posse for over 25 years. Part of his daily routine included shoeing horses, harnessing draft teams, loading wagons, and anything that required a strong work ethic. Taking a family vacation included horse shows, fairs, and riding in the posse. Dale was creative by being an all around fix-it man and could teach himself how to do many things. Helping others brought Dale satisfaction and he found great joy in taking people on hay and sleigh rides with his teams of horses. Dale took to the life of a cowboy like a horse to his oats. Dale is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Diane, of Idaho Falls; Son, Larry (Phyllis) Wagoner of Salt Lake City, UT; Daughter, Julie Cornwall of Idaho Falls, ID, Daughter, Christine Newman of Salt Lake City, UT, Daughter, Coralie (Richard) Monson of Salt Lake City, UT, Daughter, Gina Wagoner of Billings, MT; Stepdaughter, Renee (Todd) Hart of Ogden, UT, Stepdaughter, Heather Hart of Idaho Falls, ID; Brother, Roy Wagoner of Idaho Falls, ID; Sister, Dorothy Hill of Salt Lake City, UT; 19 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Dwain Wagoner and Kenneth Wagoner, and a son-in-law, Vern Cornwall. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2012, at the Shelley LDS Woodville 1st Ward, 1555 North 700 East. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church.; Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
