Click Here To View Video Tribute of Dale, made by Dale’s Family Dale L. Spaulding, 77, of Idaho Falls, passed away on January 26, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 22, 1937, in Independence, Idaho to Stephan Laverne Spaulding and Evelyn Jenkins Spaulding. He attended grade school in the area and graduated from Madison High School in Rexburg where he lettered in both track, football and boxing. He served in the Idaho National Guard from 1956-1958. He finished correspondence training in Diesel Engineering and another in welding while in the National Guard then joined the U.S. Navy in 1958. He earned Petty officer second class as a Construction Mechanic with the Seebees, where he served from 1958-1962. He married Deanna V. Butikofer in Idaho Falls on April 17, 1957. Their marriage was later solemnized in 1980 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He was the owner of Sage Creek Repair in Idaho Falls. Dale completed numerous automotive and diesel technical coursed to update his skills over the years. He was an ASME certified Automotive Repair Technician. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Temple Worker in the Idaho Falls Temple. Dale was a certified scuba diver, was an avid snowmobiler, and played the harmonica. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching his grandkid’s football and other sports activities. He had an incredible sense of humor and had many friends. Most of all he loved his family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors are: Wife: Deanna Spaulding, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Farren Dale (Tracy Ann) Spaulding, El Dorado Hills, CA Son: Bryan Craig (Ellen) Spaulding, Los Almos, NM Daughter: Susan (Robert) Beck, Federal Way, WA Son: Brett Kyle (April) Spaulding, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Jill (Bruce) Schvaneveldt, Las Vegas, NV Brother: Kyle Spaulding (Faye) Hopskinville, KY Sister: Elaine (Harold) Beebee, Pocatello, ID Sister: Julia Christensen, Shelley, ID 18 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother, Stephan, who died as an infant. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015, at the Idaho Falls LDS Brentwood Ward, 2040 Brentwood Drive, with Bishop Grant Stone officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Saturday from 12-12:45 p.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery in Burton, Idaho with military rites performed by the Madison County VFW Post 3012 and the Navy Honor Guard.

Saturday January 31, 2015 , 1 p.m. at Idaho Falls LDS Brentwood Ward

The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Saturday from 12-12:45 p.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery.
