Dale Boyd Harmon, 82, of Island Park, passed away October 25, 2018, in Idaho Falls. Dale was born September 28, 1936, in Pocatello, Idaho, to George Boyd Harmon and Bertha Albiston Harmon. He grew up and attended schools in Pocatello. He attended mechanic school in Illinois. After mechanic school he went to work for C. Ed Flandro car dealership in Pocatello and then went to work for Garrett Freight Lines in the shop. He served in the National Guard while in Pocatello. On March 30, 1956, he married Della Poormon in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Dale and Della made their home in Pocatello and after retirement moved to Island Park, Idaho, and have resided there for twenty-five years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He trained black Labrador dogs and entered them in many AKC field trial competitions. In their younger years, he and Della enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, hunting and four-wheeling. Dale is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Della Harmon; and sisters, Elene, Nancy, Eydth, Sandy and Dorothy; sister-in-law, Nita Case; and other distant siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Bruce Case officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 am to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Island Park Cemetery.
