Dale Melvin Casper, 70, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 29, 2017, at his home.

Dale was born May 5, 1947, in Rigby, Idaho, and raised by Lewis and Helen Casper. He grew up and attended schools in Lewisville and graduated from Bonneville High School. He joined the U.S. Army and served as a Specialist during the Vietnam War.

On May 24, 1985, he married Marti Lea Casper in Elko, Nevada. They made their home in Idaho Falls, where Dale worked as a Mechanic over the years for companies in the area. He also owned and operated "DC’s Flies & Lies" which was his true passion.

He was a member of Watersprings Calvary Chapel. Dale enjoyed fishing, camping, and fly tying.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Marti Casper of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Dawn (Brian) Bailey of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Ed (Melonee) Burnham of Soda Springs, ID; son, John Lea of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Bruce Casper of Idaho Falls, ID; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Kay Casper, Ron Casper, Rex Casper, and Christine Larson.

A memorial gathering will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) with military rites at 6:30 p.m.
