Dale Eugene Byington, 77, of Ririe, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012, at Monticello Assisted Living in Idaho Falls.
Dale was born September 5, 1934 in Poplar, Idaho, to Parley Eugene Byington and Irene Wanda Hunsaker Byington. He attended elementary schools in Poplar and graduated from Ririe High School. He continued his education at Ricks College.
On September 11, 1953, he married Shirley Elaine Rowan in Ririe. Together they raised five children. Dale worked as a farmer in Ririe, served as the Ririe school district Transportation Supervisor, and was a groundskeeper at Sand-Creek Golf Course, He opened Rainbow Enterprise Used Auto Sales and also owned a semi-trucking business.
Dale was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed golfing, snow skiing, hunting, playing pinocle and gin rummy, joking and kidding, and playing city-league basketball with his brothers, sons, and grandsons.

Son: Curtis Dale (Kita) Byington of Ririe, ID;
Daughter: Amy Michelle Powell of Portland, OR;
Son: Matthew Todd Byington of Anaheim, CA
Brothers: Paul Byington of Utah and Harold Byington of New Mexico;
Sisters: Barbara (Amle) Landon; Deloras (Gary) Monroe; Bonnie Chapple; and Ramona Woods all of Ririe, ID.
13 Grandchildren & 15 Great Grandchildren;
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley; a sister, May Carpenter; a brother, Donald Byington, and two sons, Dennis Byington and Danny Byington.
Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Ririe LDS Perry Building (285 Second West) with Bishop Alan Young of the Ririe LDS 2nd Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wood East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
