James Dale Mardene Anderson 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 23, 2012 at his home of natural causes.
Dale was born on December 27, 1928 to James Elmer Anderson and Katherine Bahlke Anderson, their second child and only son. Dale spent most of his childhood years in the Firth and Blackfoot areas. He also lived for a period of time as a teen in Salmon.He married Doris Moser and together they had two daughters, Ginny and Sandy. Dale and Doris later divorced. On June 17, 1957 he married Lela Thueson in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Together they had five children. Lela passed away January 22, 2005.
In April of 1953, Dale joined the United States Army. During his time in the service he was stationed in Germany for two years. He returned home and was honorably discharged from active duty in 1955.
Dale enjoyed spending time with his family, taking them fishing and hunting. Through the years he worked as a brick layer, farmer, and general laborer at several area potato warehouses before retiring in 2000.
Dale is survived by his children: Ronnie “Butch” Anderson, Barbara Anderson, Charlie (Dawn) Anderson, Terry Anderson, and Brad Anderson, all of Idaho Falls; 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his daughters from his first marriage, Ginny and Sandy.
Dale was preceded in death by his loving wife Lela; his sister Jean Allred of Utah; and both parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Ave.). The family will visit with friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grove City Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
