D. Gary Park

David Gary Park, 78, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 9, 2021, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.

Gary was born October 9, 1942, in Rigby, Idaho, to David Albert Park and Delilah Emma Mattson Park. He grew up and attended schools in Ririe and graduated from Ririe High School. Gary was a Captain in the Idaho Army National Guard and served in Vietnam.

On June 20, 1963, he married Cheryl Ann Byington in Pocatello, Idaho. Gary and Cheryl made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed reloading, shooting, fishing, camping, 4-wheeling, and chasing grandkids. He was an innovator and President and Co-Owner of Atlas Mechanical. He was also on the state plumbing board.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Park of Idaho Falls; daughters, Leslie (Kelly) Ovard of Idaho Falls, Kandace (Paul) Legere of Sun Lakes, AZ, Melissa (Greg) Johnson of Idaho Falls, Rachelle (Russ) Pearson of Fairfield, MT, and Wendy (Noal) Park of Meridian, ID; sons, Greg (Becky) Park of Idaho Falls and Jeff (Marina) Park of Irwin, ID; sister, Bernice (Merlin, deceased) Hill of Ririe, ID; and brother, Ken (Alice) Park of Ammon, ID; 28 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021, at the Shelley Sand Creek Ward, 1101 East 1250 North, with Counselor Aaron Christensen officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, masks are encouraged. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
