Cynthia “Cindy” Johnson Garcia, 61, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2012, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
She was born on January 26, 1951, in Herington, Kansas, to Delbert Keith Johnson and Clara Marie Staatz Johnson. She attended school in Kansas and graduated from Cheney High School in 1969.
She married Thomas Garcia on June 18, 1991, in Brighton, Colorado. Thomas passed away September 21, 2011. She was a cook in a restaurant, a custodian for Thornton, Colorado, public school, and was as an assembly line worker for Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas.
She enjoyed fishing, card games, computer games, and spending time with family and friends. She loved cats and dogs and going on drives.
Cindy is survived by a daughter, Carrie Willison of Idaho Falls;
two sons, Joey Shelton of Idaho Falls;
Chris Willison of Wasilla, Alaska;
six grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew;
a sister, Kathy Armbruster of Hutchinson, Kansas;
and a brother Don Johnson of Louisville, Kentucky;
and her best friend Julie McKinney of Idaho Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Garcia, her parents, and grandparents.
Graveside Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2012, at Fielding Memorial Park in Idaho Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, www.komen.org.
