Corwyn Tilley

Corwyn LeRoy Tilley, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 5, 2018, at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living Community. He was under the care of his loving family and Signature Healthcare & Hospice.

Corwyn was born May 22, 1935, in Burley, Idaho, to John William Tilley and Rulla Elizabeth Marshall Tilley. He grew up and attended schools in Burley, Idaho, and graduated from Burley High School in 1953. He served in the United States Air Force from 1953-1956 in Mountain Home as a Med-Tech during the Korean Conflict.

On October 3, 1954, he married Melva Gene Hicks in Paul, Idaho. They were blessed with three children, Chris, Gary and Darwin. Corwyn and Melva made their home in Pocatello for 50 years. Corwyn worked for IML as a local truck driver and later went to work for Western Farm until he retired in 1998. Due to failing health, Corwyn and Melva moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, in 2013. Melva passed away on June 7, 2018.

He was a charter member of Chubbuck United Methodist Church. Corwyn's love for his church spoke volumes. He sang in the choir, worked on the kitchen committee, along with other miscellaneous activities that needed his support. When Corwyn and Melva moved to Parkwood Meadows, he immediately got involved in all their activities, especially playing Bingo which was his favorite thing to do and he played five days a week.

Corwyn is survived by his loving daughter, Chris (Bob) Adolfson of Shelley, ID; son, Gary (Kayleen) Tilley of Pocatello, ID; grandchildren, Tori Adolfson White, Elizabeth Adolfson Henry, Kira Tilley Williams, Louis Darwin Tilley; and great grandchildren, Caden "Whitey" White, Addysen White, Kayla Dawn Williams, Mearah Tilley, Kendrick Henry, Taylen Henry, and Hartley Henry; brothers, Ellis Tilley, Nyles Tilley and Irvin Tilley; sisters, Merlene Crandall and Marsha Lowder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rulla Tilley; wife, Melva Tilley; son, Darwin Lewis Tilley; great grandson, Rhyland Jerald Henry; and brothers, Ralph and Leon Tilley.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018, at the Chubbuck United Methodist Church, 5147 Whitaker Road in Chubbuck, with Pastor Davey Lefler officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery where Military Rites will be performed by the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard. The family wants to extend their personal thanks to the wonderful staff at Parkwood Meadows who kept Corwyn comfortable, and to his amazing and dedicated hospice nurse, Dianna, who cared for dad for the past two years--we were blessed that dad had such a wonderful and caring nurse.
