CORINNE R. BARRUS
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Corinne Rounds Barrus, 78, of Ammon, died March 7, 2003 at her home from natural causes. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health.
She was born May 10, 1924, in Lyman, Wyoming, to Asa Horton Rounds and Mary Z. Anson Rounds. She lived in Lyman for 16 years, then graduated from High School in Mountainview, Wyoming, where she lived for 14 years.
She married Keith R. Barrus April 21, 1941, in Evanston, Wyoming. On July 3, 1965, their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They have lived in Idaho Falls for 49 years, where they operated the Rainbow Café for 30 years.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she served as Primary President, Young Women's President, Relief Society President and as a teacher. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, handwork, and most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by:Husband: Keith R. Barrus, Ammon, ID; Daughter: Janet (Keith) Hart; Daughter: Louise (Don) DeRoche; Daughter: Glenna (Rick) Goeken; Daughter: Barbara Chadwick, all of Idaho Falls, ID; Son: Alan K. (Cathy) Barrus, Rigby, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and six brothers.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 10, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ammon LDS 2nd Ward (2945 Selway), with Bishop Jim Flamm officiating.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Primary Children’s Hospital, P. O. Box 58249, Salt Lake City, UT 84158-0249,
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation,or the American Diabetes Association, 7175 S. Ammon Road, Idaho Falls, ID 83406
The family will visit with friends on Sunday, March 9, 2003, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood East Side Chapel (963 So. Ammon Rd.), and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wood East Side Chapel.
