FAY MELGAARD
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Cora “Fay” Melgaard, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 8, 2009, at her home.
She was born June 27, 1920 to Nels Severn Lee and Lena Frances Lee. Fay grew up in the Ucon area and graduated from Ucon High School.
She married George ‘Judd” I. Melgaard on May 28, 1938 in Idaho Falls. They raised 5 children together. Judd passed away on May 17, 1992. Fay worked at the West Bank Motel where she was the laundry supervisor for 30 years.
She enjoyed cooking, walking, reading, fishing, and traveling – particularly flying. She especially enjoyed her family and her grandchildren.
She is survived by:
Son; Judd L. (Edna May) Melgaard of Idaho Falls, ID;
Daughter: Cheryl (Jerry) Stevens of Mountain Home, ID;
Daughter: Debra West of Idaho Falls, ID;
Daughter: Patty (Steve) Janney of Beckley, WV;
Son: Jeffrey L. (Kim) Melgaard of Rigby, ID;
Sister: May Seedall of Ucon, ID;
11 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, and great grandson, Randy Shelton.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009, at the Ammon Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, prior to leaving for the cemetery.

I worked with Fay at the Westbank Motel. Her work ethic was of the highest. Fay worked hard and fast. She lead others by her example.

Dear cousin's I'm so saddened by Fays' passing. We are sorry our family was unable to be with you. We had a 70th Birthday party for Richard Saturday. So Donald and Garry came to our house. We so loved Aunt Fay she was a beautful person inside and out. Love Janice and Richard
