Cora Mascarenas

Cora T Segura Mascarenas, 77, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 12, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Cora was born June 12, 1938, in Taos, New Mexico, to Paul Segura and Erminda Jaramillo Segura. She grew up and attended schools in New Mexico. She also attended trade school in Provo, Utah. She worked as a mechanic’s assistant at the Tooele Army Depot in Tooele, Utah. On January 8, 1973, she married Amos Mascarenas in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Cora and Amos made their home in Tooele, Utah, where Cora was a homemaker. Amos passed away June 25, 2014. She was a member of the St. Marguerite Catholic Church. She loved to spend time with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking. Cora is survived by her daughter, Nancy Ann (Stephen) Mori of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Tom (Darlene Ruiz) Brito of Kearns, UT; daughter, Cindy (Larry) Vargas of Tooele, UT; son, Bradley Brito of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Brenda (Barney) Salazar of Salt Lake City, UT; daughter, Emily (William) Martinez of Tooele, UT; son, Amos (Tina) Mascarenas Jr. of Tooele, UT; brother, Dennis Segura of Ucon, ID; brother, Bobby Segura of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Mary (Abundio) Chavez of Ucon, ID; sister, Geneva (Herminio) Cruz of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Mary Ann Gray of Arco, ID; 28 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Amos Sr.; a son, Wayne Brito; and a granddaughter, Bernadette Pacheco. A Memorial Gathering will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls.
