Connie Jenkins

Connie Iverson Jenkins, 70, of Idaho Falls, passed away on October 1, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born August 24, 1946, in Hurricane, Utah to Grant Wallace Iverson and Grace Spendlove Iverson. She attended schools in Washington and Hurricane, and also attended Dixie High School. She also graduated from Seminary and was active in the Young Women’s Program, completing all the requirements for her recognition award. On December 6, 1963, she married Gerald Morgan "Gary" Jenkins in Washington, Utah. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She also worked as a paraprofessional at Eagle Rock Junior High School. Connie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in numerous callings through the years. She loved reading, singing, attending musicals, league bowling, riding horses, and reading stories to her grandchildren. She was extremely well read and enjoyed playing board games and cards with family and friends. She loved traveling and taking scenic drives, especially in the fall. Connie was always up for exciting adventures such as roller coasters, bungee jumping, hiking, and spelunking. She was only limited by the course of her disease, Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. She loved attending Church Education Weeks and found great joy in serving others, many times anonymously. Survivors are: Husband: Gary Jenkins of Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Melanie (Earnie) Glazener of Kirkland, WA Son: Cory (Shannon) Jenkins of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Brandon (Annette) Jenkins of Pocatello, ID Son: Kevin (Kami) Jenkins of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Tracy (Ellen) Jenkins of Shelley, ID Parents: Grant and Grace Iverson of Washington, UT Sister: Carman (Stanley) Snow of Washington, UT Sister: Sharon (Dennis) Stucki of Washington, UT 20 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the Idaho Falls LDS Old Butte Ward, 1345 Clarence, with Bishop Wiley Dennert officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in New Sweden Cemetery.
