Connie Lyn Fowler, 64, of Shelley, Idaho, passed away peacefully February 21, 2018, at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho, with her family by her side.
Connie was born December 19, 1953, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ernest D Hackman and Lorna E. Crow Hackman. She grew up and attended school in Roberts, Idaho, until Connie was about the age of 13 when they moved to Shelley in 1968 where she attended Shelley High School. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Edward K. Fowler, with whom she had two children, Kaylyn and Joey.
Connie was employed for many years at GPOD in Shelley and was later employed at the INEL as an escort guard. She was also employed with Idaho Fresh Pak in Lewisville, Idaho.
Connie always looked forward to playing pinocle with her friends every Wednesday. She loved her friends very much. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, making quilts with her grandmother, racing stock cars, Nascar and playing on a pool league. She loved her family and spending time with them at family gatherings and just giving everyone a hard time. She will be greatly missed by so many.
Connie is survived by her loving husband, Edward K. Fowler of Shelley, ID; daughter, Kaylyn Carson of Shelley, ID; son, Joey (Rachel) Fowler of Pocatello, ID; brother, Paul Hackman of Pocatello, ID; sister, Julie (David) Wise of Basalt, ID; brother, Monte (Beth) Hackman of Idaho Falls; sister, Renee Williams of Idaho Falls; brother Todd Hackman of Pocatello, ID; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Lorna Hackman, grandparents, Fritz and Anna Hackman, and Benjamin and Esma Crow.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Bishop Scott Huntsman officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to services, both times at the funeral home. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery.
