IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Colleen Luella Rhoades, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 20, 2007, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes.
Colleen was born June 12, 1928, in Shelley, Idaho, to Viggo John Nelson and Elda Luella Hult Nelson. She grew up and attended schools in Shelley and graduated from Shelley High School.
On March 22, 1947, she married Arvin Homer Rhoades at the Bonneville County Courthouse in Idaho Falls. They were sweethearts for 60 years and had six children, Christine (John) Wold, David (Brenda), Dale (Uta), Doug (Donna), Dennis (Sharon), and Dee. They resided in Cobalt, Driggs, Victor, Idaho Falls, and currently were living at their ranch in Bone.
Colleen loved life, her kids and grandkids, and especially Arvin. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a den mother and primary teacher. She was co-founder and co-owner of Rhoades Drywall with Arvin. Colleen was a homemaker and mother, cleaned houses, worked in potato warehouses, and did whatever she had to do to help provide for their family. She loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, her animals, family events, and was a superb cook.
Colleen has 20 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren, as well as two sisters, Joyce (Dick) Cleverley and Linda (Gaylon) Beck, and a brother, Dan (Jackie) Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Sharon (Guy) Robinson, a brother, David, one grandchild, and one great grandchild.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends Wednesday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home.

I just wanted to let you all know how much Aunt Colleen will be missed. She is a wonderful lady and we will all miss that beautiful smile and laugh of hers. Know that she is in a better place, free of the pain and suffering...that is what gets me through each and every day when I am missing my mom. I love you all and you are in our thoughts and prayers!
