Colleen (Nelson) Apgood

Colleen Apgood, 96, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 21, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was under the care of Eden Hospice.

Colleen was born February 24, 1928, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Norman Nels Nelson and Edna Anna Christiansen Nelson. She grew up and attended schools in Glendale, Idaho, and graduating high school in Gooding, Idaho.

On May 9, 1948, she married Don C Apgood in Gooding, Idaho. Colleen and Don made their home in Idaho Falls where Colleen worked as a nurse.

Colleen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Colleen was a long time member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was a wonderful baker and a gifted seamstress. She was an avid Scrabble player on her iPad, and loved checking Facebook all the time, and she loved reading books. She was a big hugger!

Colleen is survived by her husband, Don C Apgood of Idaho Falls, ID; children, Kathy (Robert) Bergman of Kent, WA, and Gary Apgood of Idaho Falls, ID; brothers, Devon (Sharon) Nelson of Ogden, UT, Kent Nelson of Waco, TX, and Wayne (Sue) Nelson of Blackfoot, ID; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Janice Smith; sister, Norma Park; and brother, Keith Nelson.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2024, at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue.
