Cody Allen Messenger, 28, of Ammon, passed away September 16, 2016, at his home. He was under the care of his mother and Teton Hospice. Cody was born October 26, 1987, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Boyd Allen Messenger and Bethia Judy Messenger. He grew up in Ammon and graduated from Hillcrest High School. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cody completed a Service Mission at Deseret Industries. He enjoyed bowling, camping, and dirt biking. He also enjoyed playing basketball in the Special Olympics. Cody was and always will be our hero. Not only did he constantly prove doctors wrong, he lived life to the fullest. Through all the pain and suffering, Cody put others first. Although Cody’s body was not strong, his heart and spirit were bigger than most. Cody is survived by his parents, Boyd & Bethia Messenger of Ammon, ID; sister, Brandi Gregerson of Pocatello, ID; sister, Brittany (Mark) Pace of Ucon, ID; brother, Coltin (Brittni) Messenger of Idaho Falls, ID; grandparents, Arlin & Mary Messenger; grandparents, Douglas & Terry Judy; nieces, Artiauna Pace, Reign Gregerson, and Hayden Messenger (due in December); and nephews, Kaell Pace, Natharin Pace, Samuel Pace, and Brayden Gregerson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2016, at the Ammon LDS Foothills Stake Center, 3934 East 49 South, with Bishop Jeff Steadman of the Ammon LDS 13th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed at the Bank of Commerce in Cody’s name.
