Cliveen (Beckstead) Woolstenhulme

Cliveen Beckstead Woolstenhulme, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 3, 2024, at Fairwinds Assisted Living, surrounded by her family.

Cliveen was born on July 14, 1938, to David Clive Beckstead and Etta Lee Cover in Rexburg, Idaho.

She and her sister, Floren, lived at the Felt Power Plant in Felt, Idaho. They later moved to Driggs, Idaho. She made many great memories living at the power plant, often taking her family back to visit and sharing stories of her time there.

She attended school at Driggs Elementary from 1st through 8th grade and graduated from Teton High School in 1956. She then attended Utah State Agricultural College in Logan, Utah.

On February 14, 1958, she married Claren Woolstenhulme in Victor, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. To this union were born 5 children: Evan, Eric, Traci Jo, Todd, and Andrae. Cliveen and Claren made their home in the Coltman area near Idaho Falls, where Cliveen taught Special Education at Fairview and Ucon Elementary.

Cliveen was an exceptional cook and baker, spending many hours canning fruits and vegetables from her husband’s well-kept garden. Many will remember her for her delicious food and recipes. She always had fresh bread to share and made sure all who came to her home left well-fed. She shared her love and talent with countless others by taking dinners to those in need, often bringing her grandchildren along and setting a lasting example of service. She had many talents that included crocheting, cross-stitching, sewing, quilting, and playing the piano.

Cliveen loved nature, sunsets, and enjoyed spending time with friends and family at their cabin in Island Park, Idaho. She also loved going to and sharing their home in St. George, Utah, where they enjoyed the warmer weather during the winter months.

Cliveen had many callings within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, constantly going above and beyond in serving others and sharing her talents. One of her greatest accomplishments was serving a couples mission with Claren for the church at the historic sites in Nauvoo, Illinois. She had a deep love for those she met on her mission and for the service she did there.

She loved being with her family above anything else. She made sure each grandchild and great-grandchild always felt special. She was an amazing example of love and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Etta Lee Beckstead; husband, Claren Woolstenhulme; daughter, Traci Hale; grandson, Kirtis Hale; and sister, Floran Wilderman.

Cliveen is survived by her son, Evan Woolstenhulme of Richland, WA; son, Eric (Adrienne) Woolstenhulme of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Todd (Jenessa) Woolstenhulme of Victor, ID; daughter, Andrae (Chris) Seward of Iona, ID; 16  grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Coltman Fairview Ward, 12448 North 5th East, with Bishop Justin Dahlke officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Victor Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thank you to those who took great care of Cliveen during her residency at Fairwinds Assisted Living and her nurses from Solace Hospice.
