Clinton Kent

Clinton Earl Kent, 71, of Farmington, New Mexico, and formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012, in Bloomfield, New Mexico. He was born July 27, 1941, in Logan, Utah, to Cecil E. Kent and Edna Hawkins Kent. On June 22, 1963, Clinton married the love of his life, Glenda Nelson, in Preston. They were later sealed in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple. Clinton and Glenda lived in Idaho Falls from 1965 to 1986. Clinton was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was very much a family man who enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a wizard with any type of computer and was always willing to help anyone with computer problems. In 2002, after 38 years of service, he retired from the National Cash Register Company. Clinton was a veteran, having proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, currently living in the Farmington, New Mexico LDS 5th Ward. Clint had a heart of gold and was a straight-forward-thinking man. He will be truly missed by his family and all those who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Glenda Kent; Daughter, Nancy (Tim) Kent; Son, Phillip (Trish) Kent; Brothers, David (Barbara) Kent; Sisters, Nadene (Ferrell) Wiser; Cindy Reynolds; Ruth Bailey; Carla (Tim) Castillo; Brenda (Frank) Barrela; and Grandchildren, Mallory Lewis; Amanda Lewis; Jaime Lewis; Zachary Alperin; Payne Kent; and Trevyn Kent. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald Lee Kent; and two sisters, Clea Cantrell and Barbara Sharp. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at the Farmington LDS 5th Ward Chapel, 4400 College Boulevard, Farmington, New Mexico, with Bishop Mike Lacey officiating. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls at 2:15 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, prior to leaving for the cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Memorial Veterans Team and Idaho Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Cordell Wiser, Derrick Fieldsted, Dusty Mecham, Phillip Kent, Tim Castillo, and Tim Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Payne Kent, Trevyn Kent, and Zach Alperin.
