CLIFFORD "BILL" SCORESBY
IONA, ID -- Clifford William “Bill” Scoresby,
76, of Iona, died April 8,2004, at his home in Iona.
He was born June 30, 1927, in Iona, to Clifford Norman
Scoresby and Johanna Lindholm Horman Scoresby. He lived in the Iona and
Milo areas his entire life and attended school there, graduating from
Iona High School. He also attended Ricks College. He served as a Seaman
Second Class in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
He married Afton Louise Harker November 2, 1950, in the
Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He made a living as a farmer and was a bus driver
fro school District #93. He retailed Christmas trees during the holidays
and was currently employed at Ag Parts.
Bill was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints.. He served in many callings in the church, including
counselor to a Stake President and three Bishops. He also served as a
nursery leader, Ward Clerk, and on the High Council. He served two full-time
missions, one in Australia and one with his wife, Afton, in Virginia and
Tennessee. He enjoyed his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
He also enjoyed family reunions and fishing.

Daughter: Lolly Crow, Salt Lake City, UT
Brothers: Charles, Fred, Harold and John Scoresby,
and Sisters, Fern Benson, Leah Thacker, Mary Lou Rindlisbacher, and Marilyn
Sargent
54 Grandchildren with one on the way and 7 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, a 3-year-old son, David Ben,
and a brother, Delbert.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April
12, 2004, at the Iona LDS Stake Center, (Highway 26 and 55th East), with
Steve Roos, 1st Counselor in the Iona LDS Ward Bishopric, officiating.
The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral
Home East Side (963 S. Ammon) and Monday for one hour prior to the services
at the church.
Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home East Side.
Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County
Veterans Team.
