CLIFFORD L. HANSON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Clifford LeGrand “Cliff” Hanson, 81, of Idaho Falls, died August 6, 2001, at Life Care Center of natural causes.
He was born June 17, 1920, at St. Anthony, Idaho, to Nels Christian Hanson and Alice Fedelia Wade Hanson. He grew up in and attended schools in St. Anthony, where he graduated from high school in 1940.
Cliff served as a 1st Sergeant in the U. S. Army during World War II, and spent 4 years, 11 months, and 19 days with the 41st Infantry Division 116th Medico in the South Pacific. He was a charter member of the St. Anthony VFW and was a member of the Idaho Falls Eagles Lodge.
Cliff married Sophrona Petersen November 21, 1944, at Lima, Montana. He worked in auto body shops and in power line construction until his retirement in 1985.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in the Scouting program. He enjoyed old and new cars, fishing, hunting, and camping. One of his greatest joys was his 1940 Lincoln Zephyr that his sons restored for him.

[Shiree] Hanson, Idaho Falls, IDBrother: Gail G. Hanson, Beaver, UTSister-In-Law: LaVon Guthrie 9 Grandchildren, 9 Great GrandchildrenHe was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2001, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines with Bishop McKay Guthrie officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Friday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be in the Wilford Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
Military Rites will be performed by the Fremont County V.F.W.
