CLIFF ROBERTS
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Andrew C. “Cliff” Roberts, died February 6, 2002, one day before his 76th birthday. He fought a long battle with cancer.
His loving wife Patricia (Pat) Roberts, four children, Gary, Pat, Diane and Donna, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, family and friends will miss him. He was born in Twillingate, Newfoundland and at the age of two came to the United States. He was raised by his parents, E. Gordon and Violet Roberts, along with three brothers and two sisters, in the Detroit, Michigan area.
Joining the U.S. Navy in WWII, he served as a Motor Mechanic 1st Class on a ship in the Pacific. After the war he became a skilled carpenter like his dad. Cliff built the home in which he and Pat raised their family. He and his brother, George became a team that were known for their hard work, always giving an honest days work for an honest days wage. Cliff and Pat moved to Idaho Falls in 1995 to be closer to family.
He loved to talk with people and being a life long Democrat and "union man," frequently brought on lively but friendly discussions. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. Sitting around a campfire (with an occasional beer) talking with family, friends and people that he'd just met, was something he liked best.
A Memorial Service will be held this summer in an area that he liked to visit. Instead of sending flowers, please donate to a cancer research program of your choice.
