Cleo Grange Harker, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 5, 2011, at her home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, of natural causes.
Cleo was born April 13, 1919, in Huntington, Utah, to Franklin Charles Grange and Mary Isabel Weibye Grange. She spent her early years in Huntington and attended schools there. In 1933 the family moved to Shelley, Idaho, and she attended Shelley High School.
She married Leonard Elmer (Hen) Harker March 7, 1949, in Butte, Montana, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a homemaker and mother and also kept herself very busy working outside the home. She owned Idaho Falls Monument Company and co-owned Rain-Soft Water Company. Cleo was instrumental in developing the first summer homes in Island Park in the Cascade area, and also waitressed at the Elks Lodge and various other restaurants in the area. Leonard passed away June 28, 1978. She married Grant Muir Tate May 20, 1980, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Grant passed away September 22, 1994.
Cleo was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities over the years. In 1980 she served a mission in London, England. Cleo loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed hosting family events.
Cleo is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Vernon) Obrey of Pocatello, ID; three sons, John (Dianne) Harker of St. George, UT, Lynn Harker of Idaho Falls, and Glenn (Brenda) Harker, also of Idaho Falls; 10 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, a daughter, Jeneane Johnson, three sisters, Wendella, Isabel, and Mary, and three brothers, Claud, Rex, and Max.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011, at the Idaho Falls LDS 21st Ward, 1155 East First Street, Idaho Falls, with Bishop Michael Baird officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Leonard.
