GALE CAMPBELL IDAHO FALLS, IDAHO -- C. Gale Campbell, 74, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 3, 2009 at Good Samaritan Society. The family expresses their thanks to Aspen Home Health and Hospice for the loving care they provided to Gale. He was born October 8, 1934 in Rigby, Idaho to Clarence S. Campbell and Maggie Kinghorn Campbell. Gale graduated from Rigby High School and joined the Army. He was discharged July 6, 1941. He married Glenna Olney April 19, 1960 in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple June 26, 1974. Glenna died on December 26, 1995. Gale married Jean O’Brien on December 13, 1996 in Idaho Falls. Gale worked for Argonne in material handling. He enjoyed working in his yard and was a big fan of Chuker’s baseball but he loved his years working with the kids in Grid Kid Football and umpired many baseball games for the city leagues. He is survived by; Wife, Jean O’Brien Campbell of Idaho Falls; Son, Darrin Campbell of Idaho Falls; Step-daughter, Gaylene (Jeffrey) Viggers of Hixon, TN ; Step-son, Gary Olney of Idaho Falls; Step-son, Patrick O’Brien of Superior, WY; Step-son, Thomas O’Brien of Idaho Falls; Step-son, Matthew O’Brien of Meridian, ID; Brother, Neil K. Campbell of Idaho Falls; Sister, Danita Forsgren of Meridian, ID; Sister, Clare Tibbetts of Bountiful, UT; He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Dona Williams, Step-daughter, Dee Ann Watts, and wife, Glenna. Funeral services will be at 1pm, Wednesday, July 8 at the Idaho Falls 24th Ward (1155 E. 1st Street) with Bishop Doug Hillman officiating. The family will visit with friends 7-8:30,Tues. July 7 at Wood FuneralHome (273 N. Ridge) and from 12-12:45 prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at Annis Little Butte Cemetery. Rich Batten vegasrich@hotmail.com I have just heard from a friend in Idaho Falls of Gale's passing. I am saddened by the news, but I am happy to say that Gale was a friend of mine. I worked with Gale in EBR-II Plant Chemistry for nearly 20 years. Gale was a pleasure to work with. I have not worked with anyone with greater integrity or work ethic than Gale. I have not seen or spoken with Gale for over 10 years, but I have often thought of Gale and hoped that all was well with him. My thoughts are with his family.
