Click Here To View Memorial Video Clarence Andrew “Andy” Nelson Jr., 66, of Ammon, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at his home. Clarence was born July 3, 1947, in Columbia, SC, to Clarence Andrew Nelson, Sr. and Martha Graham Nelson. He graduated from Fitzgerald High School in Georgia in 1965. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy as a Machinist Mate, serving seven tours in Vietnam. On May 23, 1968, he married Carol Herndon in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Clarence and Carol made their home in Ammon, Idaho, for the past 39 years, where Clarence worked as an agricultural mechanic for Tri-County Equipment, Idaho Equipment and CB Operations. He was also on the Board of Education at Eastern Idaho Vocational Technical School, now the EITC. He was a collector of firearms, and enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids, and rebuilding his 1954 Chevy with his boys. Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carol Nelson of Ammon, ID; son, Clarence (Velma Pepin) Nelson of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Brian (Michelle) Nelson of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Kevin (Amber) Nelson of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Dennis (Gwen) Nelson of Anderson, SC; sister, Elaine (Joe) Horn of Fitzgerald, GA; sister, Betty Jane (Kenny) Dean of Crosby, TN . Nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 28, 2014, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Reverend Brenda Sene officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, and Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 am., both times at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard. In honor of several of his grandchildren who are affected by autism, in lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in his name to the Autism Speaks foundation at www.autismspeaks.org, or by sending a check to: Autism Speaks, 1060 State Rd - 2nd Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540.

Funeral Services will be held

11 a.m. ,Monday, April 28, 2014 Wood Funeral Home East Side 963 South Ammon Road Idaho Falls, ID 83406 Notes: The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, and Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 am., both times at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
