CLAIR J. KRATER
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Clair Joseph Krater, 79, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died January 1, 2002, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 3, 1922 to Walter F. Krater and Mae Diffley Krater in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He grew up and attended schools in Pennsylvania.
He served as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force during World War II. After his service in the Air Force, he moved to Montpelier, Idaho then to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he worked as a salesman for a physician supply company. He has lived in Idaho Falls for the past 15 years and had a second home in Star Valley.
He married Ruth Ipsen and they were later divorced.
He married Jessie Ann MacKenzie June 30, 1961 in Elko, Nevada. She preceded him in death.
He enjoyed bowling, playing golf and watching football.
Surviving are:Son: Clair Krater, Jr., Jackson, WYStepson: Neil (Dorene) Rice, Idaho Falls, ID7 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren.He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
Graveside Services will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 5, 2002, at the Mountain View Cemetery, with Deacon Mel Hardy of St. Anthony Catholic Church officiating.
