Chuck Stewart

After a life well lived and well loved, Charles D. (Chuck) Stewart passed away peacefully at his home in Monteview, surrounded by family, on May 23, 2017. He was born June 1, 1954 to Helen and Charles Stewart of Idaho Falls.

Chuck attended grade school at Holy Rosary Catholic School and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1972. After graduating, he moved to the Monteview area where he farmed, raised cattle and sheep, and bought wool for Pendleton Woolen Mills. He married the love of his life–Susan on September 9, 1977. Together they raised three rowdy boys and one "fluffy" girl. Chuck loved the Monteview area, hunting, fishing, all kinds of history, Boise State games, his children, grandchildren, and friends. He especially loved to be with his family and friends up Birch Creek.

Chuck is survived by his wife Susan of 39 years, his sons, Brandon Stewart of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Jacob (Kortni) Stewart of Monteview, ID, Benjamin (Susana) Stewart of Idaho Falls, ID, daughter, Candace (Rob) Cope of Monteview, ID, and sisters Helen C. (David) Ballenger of Sierra Vista, AZ, Patricia Thornsberry of Boise, ID, and Debra (John) Elliott of Boise, ID.

He is preceded in death by his parents Helen and Charles Stewart, brother-in-law Mike Carter, nephew Christopher Carter, sister Eileen Jaggar, nephew Jeff Jaggar, and brother-in-law Dale Thornsberry.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends Monday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to services, both times at the funeral home. Interment will be at West Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in Terreton, Idaho. There will be dinner to follow at the Terreton Senior Citizens Center.
