Christine Payne

Mary Christine Green Payne, 73, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 12, 2018, at MorningStar Senior Living Center surrounded by her family. She was under the care of Encompass Hospice.

Christine was born July 17, 1944, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Terrell Dennis Green and Bertha Jeanne Rowe Green. She attended Marsh Valley High School and graduated from cosmetology school in Pocatello.

On March 7, 1964, she married Ross Payne in Paris, Idaho. To this union were born three sons, Mark, Paul, and Reed. Christine and Ross made their home in Idaho Falls where they established two businesses, Ross' Hair Fashions (which was sold in 1979) and Ross Coin & Gun. After Ross passed away, she took a male dominated industry business and developed it into the legacy it is today.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was sealed for time and all eternity to Ross and their children February 21, 1979, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She loved any activity involving her grandkids. She was an amazing Grandmother who lived for her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending their football, wrestling, soccer games and any other activity in which they participated.

She enjoyed family and always made it a priority to have dinners and celebrate holidays together. She was a Mom but she was also a friend to her boys and offered valued advice to them that will be greatly missed.

Christine is survived by her 97 year old mother, Bertha Jeanne Green of Pocatello, ID; son, Mark (Torie) Payne of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Paul (Michelle) Payne of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Reed (Debbie) Payne of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Julie (Stan) Dawson of American Falls, ID; sister, Sheree (Bryce) Jardine of Chubbuck, ID; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Payne, father, Terrell Dennis Green, brother, Denny Green, father-in-law, John Payne, and mother-in-law, Alta Payne.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, January 18, from 6:30-8:00pm, at the Residence Inn Idaho Falls, 635 W. Broadway, Idaho Falls, ID.
