Christina Maria "Chris" Fernandez

Christina Maria “Chris” Fernandez, 60, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 3, 2020, at her daughter’s home.  She was under the care of her loving family and Aspen Home Health & Hospice.

Chris was born April 19, 1960, in Rigby, Idaho, to Victor Benjamin Fernandez and Gertraud Maria Muller Fernandez.  She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School.  She also attended Idaho State University and University of Phoenix where she earned her Associate’s Degree.

Chris made her home in Rumford, Maine, where she worked as a Mental Health Case Manager for ESM Mental Health.

She was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting, diamond art, camping, traveling and spending time with her family.

Chris is survived by her daughters, Susan (Robert Burrup) Chastain of Challis, ID, Billy (Shane) Nelson of Ammon, ID, and Melissa (Nate) Fullmer of Clark’s Mount, PA; mother, Gertraud Maria Fernandez of Idaho Falls; brother, Benjamin “Fella” Fernandez of Boise, ID; sisters, Gertraud “Toots” Fernandez and Anna Fernandez, both of Idaho Falls; and 9 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Victor Benjamin Fernandez; niece, Kristy Aschliman; and grandmother, Augustina Cordova.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
