CHRIS PETERSON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Chris Henry Peterson, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 28, 2008, at Idaho Falls Health & Rehab. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
He was born January 16, 1922, in Ardmore, South Dakota, to Nels Peterson and Pauline Brickman Peterson. He grew up and attended schools in Crawford, Nebraska.
He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he settled in Idaho Falls.
He married Ruth Mae Pearson February 4, 1942, in Crawford, Nebraska. He worked for Idaho Potato Growers and as a heavy equipment salesman for Caterpillar and Western Road Machinery. He also worked for William Miller Construction and lived in Butte and Missoula, Montana, and Clayton, Idaho, during that time. He returned to Idaho Falls in 1989. Ruth passed away October 18, 2007.
He was a member of Presbyterian Church. He served as Past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed arrowhead hunting, fishing, and collecting rocks and polishing them.
Survivors include:
Daughter: Darlene Russom, Little River, SC
Daughter: Carolyn (Kent) Curtis, Idaho Falls, ID
Daughter: Christine (Mike) Gneiting, Idaho Falls, ID
10 Grandchildren & 12 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Berneda, and five brothers, Raymond, Elmer, Eldon, Freddie, and Victor.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2008, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, with Brian J. Wood officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
